Notes 8 Client Performance (so far)

So far Notes 8 running on my IBM ThinkPad T23 (750MHz/512MB) with Windows XP Pro SP2 seems to perform rather well. Compared to what I was seeing earlier in the VMs, I must say I'm quite impressed. I'll add more opinion later after I've used it more.

No complaints from me yet.

Oh, the RSS Feed Reader fly-outs work just fine. I'm fairly certain it was a fluke related to running Notes 8 in the VM.

New Domino 8 Server

I've added a Domino 8 Server running on Linux to the Objective Patterns website and have high hopes of making it available very soon. It will provide Domino Web Services as well as demos of the new Composite Applications and of course other Domino stuff.

Here's the link: Objective Patterns Domino 8

I also have plans to add an IIS server to the mix to show what's possible with Microsoft ASP.NET and IBM Lotus Domino integration.

Day One

I originally created this blog using the instructions that Michael Allen Smith provided on his blog Digital Colony. He has a great posting for Creating an ASP.NET Blog Using Blogger. For now though, I’ve decided to go with one of the ‘vanilla’ Blogger templates (with a couple minor tweaks to the template HTML). I still believe Michael's approach of using ASP.NET 2.0 and Master Pages is a great way to go if you want more control.

Objective Patterns will provide technical content relating to Lotus Notes/Domino development including integration and extension with Microsoft .NET technologies.

My hope is that it will be useful for both Lotus Domino Developers and Microsoft .NET Developers alike.
